The 3rd HQC Global Brand Award 2023 now open for entries
HQC Commerce Sdn Bhd announced that it would organise the HQC Global Brand Award (HGBA) for the third consecutive time, following the two previous editions. The HGBA is a prestigious awards ceremony that recognises and honours outstanding companies and individuals in the halal industry, across sectors such as food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Open to HQC clientele and industry leaders.
The Malaysia Halal Expo is a trade showcase where brands present halal-certified products, services and business solutions to local buyers, distributors and consumers. Exhibitors typically span food and beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, fashion, tourism, banking and finance, plus shariah advisory and compliance services, giving the event a broad cross-section of the Muslim-friendly economy. The organising team emphasises obtaining halal certification and market exposure as central goals for participants, and the expo floor is arranged in themed booth categories so visitors can move efficiently between product groupings. Alongside the commercial displays, the programme includes talks, education sessions and networking, encouraging engagement between exhibitors, visitors and industry bodies throughout the show days.
The 2024 edition carried the theme of crossing borders, positioning Malaysia as a launchpad for companies seeking overseas markets and as a meeting point for international brands looking to enter the local market. A dedicated cross-border marketing strand highlights how exhibitors can cross-promote their catalogues with participants from other countries, while visitor profiles reflect a mix of traders, buyers, distributors and entrepreneurs. The expo also serves as an educational platform, with sessions that explain certification pathways, permitted and prohibited product categories, and practical guidance on presenting goods to a discerning halal-conscious audience in a professional, well-organised hall setting.
The past-events archive documents earlier showings of the expo, including the first edition held in September 2023 at the MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, which was co-hosted by HQC Commerce Sdn Bhd with Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia. The archive preserves highlights, activity recaps, award ceremony details and announcements issued around that edition, giving prospective exhibitors and visitors a sense of the scale and format of previous years. Browsing the history is also a useful way for returning participants to familiarise themselves with the venue layout, product categories and programme format before committing to a future edition.
Beyond the exhibition floor, the expo's ecosystem includes content creation, gallery and brochure downloads, exhibitor profiling and event updates that help businesses prepare for the show and for the months of follow-up trading that follow it. Organisers note that halal commerce extends well beyond food and beverages into cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, fashion, tourism and financial services, and that clear labelling and certification paperwork remain the foundation of trust for any brand entering this market. For smaller exporters, the cost and time traditionally involved in international payment transfers have also been addressed through faster, more secure transaction methods, reducing administrative friction for cross-border trade.
